Q: Do the coasters absorb water?
A: No. The coasters are made out of porcelain and are not very absorbent. For that reason, they will not stain easily. They are also dishwasher-safe.

Q: Can you put food on the platters.
A: You can put dry food (nuts, fruit, crackers, etc.) on unglazed platters. Unglazed stoneware is absorbent and could easily stain if you were to put moist food on it. Although the platters are dishwasher-safe, there is no guarantee that all stains would come out. If you would get a stubborn stain, you can always use bleach or Tilex to remove it.
